The old town center of Krakow was once a fortress that was surrounded by a moat.
The Wawel Castle
sits on a small hill near the river. Inside the castle are quite a few of the
sights.
With much of the
historic relics of ancient Poland as well as a religious museum.
It's easy to do most of the
castle in an afternoon -- then head into the old town square for shops, restaurants, pubs, and more.
